Moses
Perhaps more than any other biblical figure, we have a vast knowledge of Moses’ story: He was born under threat of annihilation, escaped as an infant down the Nile, and was raised by an Egyptian princess as her own. When he discovered that he was, in fact, an Israelite, Moses murdered an abusive Egyptian overseer and lived an underground life of shepherding. Forty years later, Moses heard God’s voice and answered: “Here I am” to a new call on his life. He performed miracles in God’s name, led his people to freedom, and talked with God face-to-face.
Moses was an orphan, a stutterer, murderer, prophet, disappointment, and hero. We spend this sermon series learning from his story.
