Lay Down & Take Up
Jesus wants something from us. But it doesn’t have to do with following rules, keeping up appearances, or trying harder. In the Sermon on the Mount, He invites His listeners to lay down those things that are hindering our love for Jesus and our ability to love other people. In its place, He invites us to set our eyes on the eternal, to come along with Him on a journey to a soul that is light, free, and radically in love with God. This Lent, explore freedom and dependence as we lay down the weight of this world and take up new life in Jesus.
We are offering a six-week study guide that pairs with this sermon series. Download below or pick up a free copy in the Great Room—great for personal use or group study! We have also created an answer guide to help participants if you get lost or need another perspective.
