What does grit have to do with Nehemiah, the tribe of Israel, and our church today? Grit can be defined as “sustained passion and perseverance for especially long-term goals.” The Israelites, under the call of Nehemiah, displayed this passion and perseverance as they worked to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem while facing extreme obstacles.
Followers of Jesus have always needed grit to enable us to hold tight to the calling and vision before us as a Church. As we go through our own rebuilding during construction, join us as we acknowledge the challenges ahead and the bold road before us as we tenaciously pursue extending the invitation of God to others.
