WHAT IS MESSAGE GEAR?

The message on the weekend is meant to be a catalyst for you and those you’re in community with to become more like Jesus. In order to help you take what you're hearing on the weekend into your life, we've developed this devotional tool that you can use in print form, or have emailed to you each week. You can use it by yourself, or with your small group.

This year as a faith community we will be working our way through the writings of Paul, learning from the teachings of Jesus. Each week Message Gear will have three sections. Our goal is to have YOU engage with the text, not give you our interpretation or inspirational stories. The sections will be as follows:

  • Read - This is a time to be completely still and read the text, listening for words, phrases, impressions, places you feel resistant, and words that reassure you.
  • Reflect - Here we will give you some questions and suggestions to guide you in a second reading.
  • Live - We believe that God primarily uses relationships, experiences, and spiritual practices in our lives to make us more like Jesus. In this section there will be suggestions for you to apply what you've read in Scripture.
