VEAP (Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People)

MISSION

VEAP is a local nonprofit that serves the low-income population of Bloomington, Edina, Richfield, and South Minneapolis. VEAP’s four programs (Food, Seasonal, Social Service, and Transportation) work together to help alleviate the financial stress low-income households face as the result of unexpected expenses or lapses in income. Programs are designed to address a particular need and when used together can help to avoid crises such as loss of housing, transportation, and employment. In 2006, VEAP served over 11,000 residents.They are located at 9728 Irving Ave. South, Bloomington, MN 55431.


VEAP VOLUNTEER

VEAP has a wide variety of volunteer opportunities for adults, both year-round and seasonal. Various opportunities include: food pantry work, office administration, data entry, driving, registration, client services specialists, and hospitality. Training is provided.
Volunteers are needed Monday-Friday from 9:00AM-4:00PM and on Thursday evenings from 4:00–7:00PM. There are also seasonal and monthly opportunities available with flexible scheduling.
